AFP Imaging has announced that its NewTom VG cone-beam CT (CBCT) scanner now has a 25% reduced scan time.
"The NewTom VG is an upright or vertical generation (VG) CBCT scanning system allowing patients to sit, stand, or remain in a wheelchair while being scanned," according to a company press release.
The reduced scan time means less patient movement and higher-quality images, which in turn means fewer retakes and potentially faster, more accurate diagnosis for both the patient and practitioner, the Elmsford, NY, company said.
Existing NewTom scanners can be upgraded to include this feature with a simple software upgrade.
