Henry Schein has added former Blue Cross Blue Shield President and CEO Scott Serota to its board of directors.
Serota will serve on the board until the firm's annual stockholders meeting in May, when he is expected to stand for reelection to the board by a shareholder vote. In addition, Serota has been appointed as a member of the board's strategic advisory committee, according to the company.
In other board news, Barry Alperin will be retiring from Henry Schein's board in May, per the company's policy of expecting directors to retire from the board at the end of the term in which they reach the age of 80, Henry Schein said.
