The American Association of Public Health Dentistry (AAPHD) is seeking two to three original research papers for a special Journal of Public Health Dentistry issue on the topic of antiracism in dental public health.
The special issue will address the role of racism in oral health inequalities, diversity in the oral health workforce and dental education, and antiracism practices in advocacy and government. The proposed papers should focus on the impact of racism on oral health, access to dental care outcomes, or on existing racism and bias in dental education.
Interested applicants should submit a 250-word abstract with the subject line "AAPHD Special Issue RFA Response" to AAPHD Executive Director Frances Kim at [email protected]. The application deadline is August 17.
The AAPHD will publish the special edition in the second volume of 2022. It features guest editors Drs. Julie Reynolds and Eleanor Fleming and is sponsored by CareQuest Institute.
