The Pacific Dental Services (PDS) Foundation has announced the first Stroll for Special Needs, a virtual 5K event to raise funds for a PDS clinic serving children and adults with physical and intellectual disabilities.
The event will take place on December 5 and 6 in support of the PDS Foundation Dentists for Special Needs clinic in Phoenix. Participants will run, walk, stroll, and roll in neighborhoods and parks and on tracks to raise money for the clinic.
PDS intends to match donations dollar for dollar up to $80,000. The team or person who raises the most money will get their name on a plaque. In addition, individuals with the fastest times in each age category will receive a PDS Foundation t-shirt and be featured on the 2020 event wall of fame.
The registration fee is $40, which includes a t-shirt and medal, and participants can register as a team or individual. The foundation is asking interested participants to register by November 2.
The PDS Foundation is also asking participants to wear a mask and socially distance. Participants are encouraged to share photos of their route and time with the hashtag #Stroll4SpecialNeeds on Instagram and to tag @pdsfoundation.
