Jeff's ScreenZine
news, information and interesting stuff that I find useful, you may as well.

What is “Jeff’s ScreenZine”? It’s a short newsletter, basically from my desk to yours. However, chances are you’re not reading this from your desk. Maybe it should be from my screen to your screen. That’s a mouthful. I’ve always liked the term zine, it’s been around forever.  In the late 80’s and early 90’s I sent an email newsletter called Jzine to a group of friends. Mostly links to interesting stuff. Such a long story for the name of a short newsletter, it’s just a name.

Enter 2016, we’re beta-testing a new service called DrBicuspid Group Connect. It’s really easy to setup a profile for yourself, create an email list, blabber on about some subject and include some current dental news that you can then instantly email. Check it out at: https://groupconnect.drbicuspid.com/

The main topic; the Internet Code Conference

The Code Conference was last week. There have been countless articles from the event. Some real heavy hitters from Jeff Bezos to Bill and Melinda Gates either spoke or were interviewed. Keeping it current, Harvey Levin (the dude behind TMZ) was there. And yes, probably the most controversial interview was with none other than Kim Kardashian. Her exposure (insert teenage giggle) into the social arena is simply unbelievable. Even the hard-core (sure, giggle again) techie’s can’t escape her reach.

Tons of stuff I could point you to, I’ll filter it to one article:
Mary Meeker's 2016 internet trends report: All the slides, plus analysis
http://www.recode.net/2016/6/1/11826256/mary-meeker-2016-internet-trends-report

I should warn you that Mary’s, [Partner, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB)], slide deck is 213 deep. The article distills it down to 3 key takeaways for you.

Feeback on DrBicuspid-GroupConnect is welcomed. You’ll find an opt-out link at the bottom if you don’t want to see these anymore.

All the best,
jeff
