Retirement services company Mutual of America awarded North Dental Access Center in Bemidji, MN, $25,000 as a finalist in its 2014 Community Partnership Awards. The dental health clinic will celebrate with an award presentation on May 19.
The Community Partnership Awards were established in 1996 and recognize the contributions nonprofit organizations make to society. North Dental was recognized for its program, titled "A Collaborative Approach to Community Dental Care."
"The center is organized to meet the complex needs of underserved patients who tend to put oral health on the back burner because of financial, insurance, transportation, and other issues," stated Jeanne Edevold Larson, executive director of Northern Dental, in a press release. "We remain deeply committed to expanding our reach and to improving the quality of life for thousands of people in this part of rural northern Minnesota."
