Three ADA member dentists have been elected to the U.S. Congress.
Republican Brian Babin, DDS, was elected to the House of Representatives for Texas' 36th Congressional District and will join incumbent Reps. Paul Gosar, DDS (R-AZ), and Mike Simpson, DMD (R-ID), according to an ADA News story.
The American Dental Political Action Committee supported the campaigns of the general practice dentists and participated in 300 of 435 House races.
Reps. Gosar and Simpson have been advocates for oral health and have sponsored numerous oral health bills.
