The California Dental Association (CDA) Foundation has received $50,000 from Western Dental in support of the CDA Cares volunteer dental program scheduled for Pomona, CA, later this year.
CDA Cares provides cleanings, fillings, extractions, and oral health education at no charge to Californians who experience barriers to care, according to the organization.
The goal of CDA Cares is to relieve pain and infection in patients and educate the public and policymakers about the importance of good oral health and the need for an adequately funded dental safety net.
With the help of thousands of community volunteers, dentists, and dental professionals, the CDA Cares volunteer dental program has provided $7.5 million in care to more than 10,000 Californians since 2012.
The next CDA Cares event is scheduled for Pomona on November 21-22. Volunteer registration for the clinic opens in July. For more information on CDA Cares, visit the CDA Foundation's website.
