A Florida dentist is accepting Bitcoin for treatment, citing no transaction fees and guaranteed anonymity that shields Bitcoin medical payments from patients' banks.
Boca Raton cosmetic dentist Mitchell Pohl, DDS, also cited recent cyber attacks against Target and Neiman Marcus customers as part of the reason he started allowing his patients to pay for services using Bitcoin, according to a press release.
Dr. Pohl is part of a growing number of businesses participating in the new payment network and is the first dentist in South Florida to accept Bitcoin payments.
