Henry Schein donates $150K in aid for Typhoon Haiyan relief

Henry Schein is donating $150,000 in support of relief efforts for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

The company is working with suppliers and nongovernmental organization partners AmeriCares, Direct Relief, Heart to Heart International, and MedShare to provide healthcare supplies for the ongoing relief efforts, according to Henry Schein. In addition, funds raised through the Henry Schein Cares Foundation will be donated to organizations delivering urgent care to victims.

Henry Schein suppliers Crosstex International, A.R. Medicom, Sempermed USA, and TIDI Products have contributed supplies.

To help the response to emergencies around the world, Henry Schein Cares Foundation ships product to international relief organizations year-round to ensure their warehouses are stocked when disasters strike, according to the company.

The Philippines Relief Fund was established through the foundation, which supports and promotes dental, medical, and animal health by helping to increase access to care globally. Money raised by the foundation will be donated to organizations providing relief in the Philippines, including Catholic Relief Services, Islamic Relief USA, IsraAID, Lutheran World Relief, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
