Canadian kids' oral health needs TLC; time to get serious about EHRs

Concerned that public funding for dental care in Canada has been decreasing over the last 30 years and that 50% of families in the lower income brackets do not have dental insurance, the Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS) has issued a position statement that calls for making children's oral health a higher priority.

Like Canadian medical care, dental care in Canada falls under provincial or territorial jurisdiction. However, there are significant disparities between regions, and the existing programs tend to focus on treatment rather than preventive care, according to the CPS. Read more.
