The ADA's political contributions have spiked in the five years since the healthcare reform debate emerged on the U.S. scene.
In fact, since 1999 the ADA and its state affiliates have spent nearly $40 million on lobbying and campaign contributions, making it one of the top 100 donors between 1989 and 2012, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
