A widely reported news story about a vengeful Polish dentist who extracted all of her former boyfriend's teeth has been revealed as a hoax, according to an article from MSNBC.
The dentist had allegedly taken revenge on her significant other after he left her for another woman. DrBicuspid, Fox News, the Los Angeles Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, Huffington Post, Yahoo! News, the New York Post, and The New York Daily News were among the U.S. news sites that ran the story.
It was reported that the dentist faced up to three years in jail on charges of medical malpractice and abusing the trust of a patient. However, a police spokesman in Wroclaw, Poland stated that they had no record of the incident when contacted by MSNBC, the article noted.
The news site also said the organization that handles disciplinary issues in Wroclaw, the Chamber of Physicians and Dentists, is not investigating a case of that nature, nor is there a dentist by the name of the one mentioned in the articles.
