Pa. dental association installs new president

The Pennsylvania Dental Association (PDA) installed Bernie Dishler, DDS, as its new president for a one-year term. He replaces Dr. Dennis Charlton, DMD.

Dr. Dischler completed his dental education at the Temple University School of Dentistry and has practiced in Elkins Park, PA, at the Yorktowne Dental Group for 36 years.

Previously Dr. Dishler served as president of the Montgomery Bucks Dental Society. He has been chairman of the Valley Forge Dental Conference and PDA Council on Membership while also serving two years in the U.S. Army Dental Corps.

Dr. Dishler said that the PDA will continue to support legislation that would require insurers to cover general anesthesia for patients with special needs and young children. He said he hopes to organize a Mission of Mercy (MOM) event in Philadelphia in April 2013.
