A Tampa Bay, FL, dentist has asked the Hillsborough County Circuit Court to help him deal with complaints from patients about the smoky smell coming from the cigar shop next door, according to an article in the Tampa Bay Times. His assistant's husband has even noticed the smell of smoke on her clothes after she returns home from work.
The complaint seeks both temporary and permanent injunctions to stop the smell of the smoke, among other complaints related to a negative impact on health, the article stated. The cigar shop opened on October 1 and touts itself as a "work-free smoke place." Owners have made efforts to contain the smoke by sealing drywall and installing a smoke filter in the air-conditioning unit of the dentist's office, according to the Times.
The landlord also is named in the complaint.
