Mass. dentist chosen as ADA president-elect

Robert Faiella, DMD, of Osterville, MA, was elected president-elect of the ADA for 2012 during last week's meeting of the ADA House of Delegates in Las Vegas.

Dr. Faiella will assume the ADA presidency in October 2012. He has just completed a four-year term on the ADA board as the trustee from the 1st District, which represents Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Dr. Faiella's previous responsibilities with the ADA include terms as chair of the Compensation Committee and the ADA Electronic Health Record Workgroup. Since June 2009, he has served as chairman and sole director of ADA Business Enterprises, a wholly owned subsidiary of the ADA.

Dr. Faiella is a past president of the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS), former general chair of the Yankee Dental Congress, and former consultant to the MDS Council on Government Affairs.

He received his predoctoral education from Villanova University, his doctor of dental medicine degree from Fairleigh Dickenson University School of Dental Medicine, and his graduate training in periodontology at Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
