A NY dental practice sued a patient after she failed to write a positive online article about the practice to pay off her $45,000 bill, according to a story in the New York Daily News.
The patient -- Lyss Stern, a reportedly well-known parenting blogger -- reportedly told Lowenberg & Lituchy D.D.S. that if they dropped her bill she would write a "rave" review of the practice in Observer Playground, the New York advertising supplement that Stern edits.
When she didn't, the dental practice filed suit against her in Manhattan Supreme Court on October 22. But "just hours later," according to the New York Post, the lawsuit was withdrawn after Stern reportedly agreed to pay the bill.
"They will not be suing her," said Michael Laufer, a lawyer for the Central Park South practice, told the News. "The matter is closed."
