A critical step in implant restorations is the fabrication of the dental bar on which the denture sits. Each bar is patient-specific and needs to fit firmly in a patient's mouth, conforming to the shape of the gingival surface.
The conventional approach requires manual molding and casting, which can be time-consuming. But researchers from Missouri University of Science and Technology have developed a way to entirely automate the process, and they say it can save time and reduce fabrication costs.
