To serve families without dental insurance, the Salvation Army is opening a new dental center in Carnegie, PA.
The center will offer basic preventive care and emergency care for pain relief. Additionally, the Venango County Dental Health Task Force will provide outreach and support in the areas of preventive education, data collection and assessment, and grant writing.
Bartley J. Morrow, D.D.S., a clinical associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, will oversee the center, which will be staffed by volunteers.
"This project took a lot of determination and effort, but it is well worth the wait," said Maj. Robert Reel, the Salvation Army's Western Pennsylvania divisional commander, in a press release. "Our staff is anxious to serve."
