While periodontal disease has long been associated with potential adverse pregnancy outcomes, researchers from Case Western Reserve University are now reporting the first documented case linking pregnancy-associated gingivitis with the death of an unborn child. The finding suggests that periodontal disease may increase the risk for stillbirth. Read more.
