Komet USA has introduced two new stainless-steel bur blocks designed for easier cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and storing of dental instruments.
Any Komet friction grip or contra-angle instruments stored in bur blocks 9931 and 9933L3 can be cleaned and disinfected either in an instrument and/or ultrasonic bath or in the thermodisinfector, according to the company.
Sterilization takes place in the autoclave, and because of their blue silicone plugs, the instruments are held tightly in place. The silicone plugs come in refill packs of eight pieces and are also available in yellow and red. Block 9931 holds up to nine instruments and block 9933L3 holds up to 12 instruments.
