Florida man arrested for practicing without a license

Miami police have arrested a man and charged him with the unlicensed practice of dentistry, according to a news story in the Miami Herald.

Police were tipped off about Eduardo Manuel Yglesias through Crime Stoppers of Miami-Dade County, according to the story.

Investigators first determined that Yglesias was only licensed as a dental radiographer and not as a dentist with the state. Later, an undercover detective scheduled an appointment for dental work.

Yglesias conducted a preliminary exam, reviewed x-rays, gave his diagnosis, and prepared to perform a root canal on the detective, the Herald reported.

Instead, he was arrested. It was later revealed that he had been practicing dentistry since last September, according to the Herald.
