OSAP symposium gets bad weather, good attendance

Despite a severe electrical storm and tornado warnings, more than 200 people attended the Organization for Safety and Asepsis Procedures (OSAP) 2009 symposium, Infection Prevention: Spread the Word, held June 11-14 in Plano, TX.

The symposium, which kicked off on the day the World Health Organization declared a worldwide influenza A (H1N1) pandemic, featured up-to-the-minute information on the pandemic and sessions on a wide range of infection control and safety topics. Henry Schein CEO Stanley Bergman delivered the annual Dr. John Zapp Memorial Lecture, Public and Private Partnerships -- Important Today, Essential for Tomorrow.

Also in attendance were nearly 100 dental assistants, who attended the Professional Dental Assisting Conference, held in conjunction with the OSAP symposium.

The 2010 OSAP symposium will be held June 10-13 in Tampa, FL.
