A coalition working to improve dental care in Illinois is concerned that the state budget crisis will adversely affect its efforts, according to an Associated Press (AP) article.
In Illinois, 66 counties lack proper dental care, according to the Bridge to Healthy Smiles coalition. And although lawmakers have signed off on grants to remedy this problem, such as setting up dental clinics, they did not approve the money to go along with those programs, the AP reported.
The coalition stated that it will try to get the funding this fall.
