Remember my MemberID and Password

The Remember Me checkbox is a convenient feature for most members; however, in certain circumstances, you may wish to disable it when you sign in.

Q: On the Sign In page at DrBicuspid.com, there is a checkbox labeled Remember Me. What is this? How does it work?

A: This is a feature we offer to our members as a convenience. Many people simply call it the Remember Me box. In simplest terms, if you check this box when you sign in, your computer will remember that you are signed in to DrBicuspid.com, and you won't have to re-enter your MemberID and password when you come back to our site. There are some situations, however, in which you may not wish to use this feature.

Q: How do you determine whether to use the Remember Me feature?

A: Please ask yourself the following questions:
  • Do you share your computer with co-workers, roommates, or others?
  • Is your computer in an open environment, such as a library or staff lounge?
  • Do you use more than one computer to access DrBicuspid.com (for example, one at work, and another at home)?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, it is wise to uncheck the Remember Me box when you sign in to DrBicuspid.com. Using the Remember Me feature under any of these conditions may create risks to your account security. It is also best to be sure to Sign Out from DrBicuspid.com before you walk away from the computer. Sign out by clicking the Sign Out link at the top of the DrBicuspid Web site.

Q: I share a computer with other people. Why is it so important to uncheck the Remember Me button when I sign in, and to click Sign Out when I leave the computer?

A: This is a security precaution that applies to nearly any area requiring a MemberID and password - not just DrBicuspid.com: If you leave yourself signed in, anyone who uses the computer after you can use your account without your permission.

If the Remember Me box is checked when you sign in, you will remain signed in to DrBicuspid.com on that computer until you go to DrBicuspid.com and click Sign Out. You will remain signed in even if you close your browser window. You will remain signed in even if the computer is shut down and restarted.

If you uncheck the Remember Me box when you sign in, but leave a browser open when you walk away from the computer, you are still signed in to DrBicuspid.com. It's safest to always click the Sign Out button when you walk away from the computer.
