Teledyne DALSA unveils intraoral sensors, detectors at IDS

Teledyne DALSA is showcasing several new dental x-ray sensors and detectors this week at the International Dental Show (IDS) in Cologne, Germany.

The new products include the Vera family of intraoral dental sensors, sizes 1 and 2.

The Vera sensors implement Teledyne DALSA's direct chip-to-USB 2.0 interface and are available exclusively to dental equipment OEMs with both cesium iodide (CsI) and gadolinium oxysulfide (GdOS) scintillators.

The company is also introducing large-format complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) flat x-ray detectors (21 x 21 cm2 and 31 x 31 cm2 active area) for use in dental cone-beam CT systems. The Xineos 2121 and 3131 detectors feature low power and full 30-fps operation at full resolution using Teledyne DALSA's gigabit Ethernet hardware and software interface, the company noted.

The company is also launching the Argus-Pan, a cost-effective CCD-TDI panoramic x-ray detector designed to provide high resolution with Ethernet connectivity. The extremely low noise operation, coupled with high-performance 16-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC), ensures in excess of 80 dB of imaging dynamic range, according to Teledyne DALSA.
