3Shape has launched CAMbridge 2013, designed to automate the manufacturing of computer-aided designs for a range of dental lab sizes.
The new version of CAMbridge includes more automation and support for an expanded range of compact desktop manufacturing machines, the company noted in a press release.
3Shape CAMbridge 2013 has been extended to support more manufacturing options, including a wide range of desktop manufacturing machines designed to offer affordable milling solutions for smaller labs. Also new is direct support and dedicated milling and grinding strategies for widely used materials such as Ivolclar Vivadent IPS e.max, Vita VitaBlocs Mark II, and 3M ESPE Lava Ultimate Restorative.
CAMbridge is designed for complete integration within 3Shape's Dental System. Lab technicians select the CAMbridge option as the manufacturing process when creating the order. After designing, they can launch CAMbridge from within Dental System to produce planned computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) output, including sprues, supports, and more.
The user interface has been restructured to give an improved overview of multiple jobs and machines, the company explained. Additional new features in the 2013 version include five -axis continuous machining and updated filters for creating automated individual strategies for all dental indications.
3Shape CAMbridge 2013 can also be used as a standalone software tool, enabling automated production of designs from any CAD system that supports the standard stereolithography (STL) file format.
