Fovia adds HDVR Mobile to dental OEM offering

Fovia, the developer of high-definition volume rendering (HDVR), has released HDVR Mobile for medical and dental 3D applications.

HDVR Mobile allows original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to integrate and distribute advanced visualization applications on mobile devices, according to the company.

HDVR Mobile has an intuitive interface designed for remote viewing by healthcare professionals and a software development kit (SDK) feature set to enable OEMs to customize interfaces for their target markets. Fovia's scalable, central processing unit-based, thin-client technology provides critical information "on-the-fly" via the cloud, local networks, or as an integrated component of existing architectures.

When combined with increased network performance, HDVR Mobile eliminates many of the constraints currently faced by doctors and dentists, according to Fovia.

"Universal access to HDVR will significantly enhance medical and dental care by providing advanced visualization when and where it is most urgently needed," said Thomas Schiff, DMD, former chair of the radiology department and director of clinical research at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, in a press release.
