Cadent partners with Deka on digital impressions

Cadent, a provider of 3D digital and CAD/CAM solutions for orthodontics and dentistry, has entered into an agreement with Deka Laser Technologies whereby it will serve as the exclusive digital impression partner for Deka's Laser Practicum. Under the terms of the agreement, the two companies will collaborate on educational initiatives for current Deka and iTero users and potential customers looking to adopt both technologies.

"Our collaboration with Deka further expands the reach of iTero and offers additional value to our current customers through advanced, accredited continuing education," said Timothy Mack, president of Cadent. "It also provides dentists who have embraced the concept of laser dentistry with the knowledge necessary to implement or expand the use of lasers, including iTero, in their practice."

Cadent and Deka's complementary technologies enable a dentist to use a Deka laser to create a clean, dry field with precise tissue management prior to scanning with iTero, saving approximately 10 minutes of chair time by eliminating the need to place cord when creating subgingival preparations, he added.

"As dentistry fully embraces the digital world, the CO2 UltraSpeed laser is the bridge that allows dentists and lab technicians to move from traditional to digital dentistry," said Tom Stratton, president of Deka Lasers. "No other technology allows for the two most critical aspects of capturing a good digital impression: good tissue management and a clean, dry field."
