Dentsply GAC's new OrthoPlex product is the first digital modeling technology that enables orthodontists to create an accurate 3D model -- and custom lab appliance -- from a single impression, according to the company.
OrthoPlex combines CT scanning technology with GAC's exclusive lab integration service, according to a company press release. The company claims that OrthoPlex offers the fastest model turnaround time -- three business days or less, guaranteed -- at a cost that's among the lowest in the industry.
"OrthoPlex can help today's orthodontists save both time and money with an integrated, innovative digital solution that can help speed patient diagnosis and treatment, while also boosting office productivity, cost-efficiency, and profitability," said John Kringel, director of marketing, in a press release.
Digital models can be downloaded to the practice computer, viewed and analyzed via user-friendly software available free from OrthoPlex at www.gacorthoplex.com. Models also can be accessed online from anywhere and shared with colleagues via a HIPAA-compliant "Private Peer Network." All are securely stored in online archives at no charge for at least seven years, further eliminating physical inventory costs, according to the company.
