OrthoAccel Technologies has introduced the AcceleDent Aura orthodontic treatment.
AcceleDent Aura's SoftPulse technology generates micropulses that accelerate bone remodeling, which has been shown to accelerate tooth movement by up to 50%, the company explained in a press release. The product's gentle micropulses may also help reduce patients' discomfort and make treatment more comfortable, according to OrthoAccel.
Patients use AcceleDent Aura for 20 minutes each day, during which time they can engage in daily activities such as reading, texting, or watching television. The device has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Faster orthodontic treatment promotes increased patient satisfaction, which may lead to increased patient referrals, according to OrthoAccel.
