Dear DrBicuspid Member,
Kansas has become the next U.S. state to move forward with plans to implement a midlevel provider model for dentistry.
Fort Hays State University announced yesterday that it intends to offer a baccalaureate degree program to train Registered Dental Practitioners (RDPs), pending passage of legislation establishing RDPs as a class of dental care provider in Kansas. Read more.
Meanwhile, DrBicuspid spent the past few days at the ADA Annual Session in Las Vegas. And rather than keeping mum about what happened during our stay there, we've been posting stories daily from the conference. Here is some of our show coverage:
- Metal crowns of the past are 'far superior'. During his presentation, the "Christensen Bottom Line," Dr. Gordon Christensen didn't mince words about the current state of restorative dentistry.
- Is it time to invest in digital dentistry? If you haven't incorporated digital technologies into your dental practice yet, you may be undervaluing your practice by tens of thousands of dollars, according to Paul Feuerstein, DMD.
- 3M ESPE introduces single-bottle universal adhesive. 3M ESPE has developed a universal adhesive for both self- and total-etch that comes with a "no post-op sensitivity" guarantee.
- Sesame launches cloud-based patient connection system. Sesame Communications is expanding its offering of cloud-based products and services with Sesame 24-7, a system that provides search optimization, online marketing, patient portals, and practice metrics for dental practices.
Finally, a correction: In the Business & Industry Insider newsletter sent out October 10, we inadvertently stated that the new Sonicare AirFloss is marketed by Procter & Gamble. It is a Philips Oral Healthcare product.
