Orthodontic Specialists of Florida is joinging Gov. Rick Scott in honoring Florida's military veterans by offering discounts on orthodontic care to patients who present the new Florida driver's license for veterans.
The new feature, which is designed to give veterans an easy way to show proof of their veteran status, was announced last month.
"We hope that retailers and restaurants that offer discounts to military veterans will accept the license with the blue 'V' on it as proof that someone is a veteran," said Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll in a press release July 21 announcing the Florida driver's license for veterans.
"We are honored to serve the more than 1.6 million veterans who have served this great country and made Florida proud," said Alan Shoopak, DDS, founder of the 33-office orthodontic group.
Orthodontic Specialists of Florida is offering a $300 discount for orthodontic treatment, as well as a free exam and consultation. For more information on the program, visit the group's website.
