Opal Orthodontics introduced two new products, Avex CX ceramic brackets and the Valo Ortho curing light, at the recent American Association of Orthodontists annual meeting in Chicago.
The Avex CX ceramic twin bracket is the newest addition to the Avex Suite, a system of interchangeable metal and ceramic brackets. All components -- including MX stainless steel brackets, BX buccal tubes, and CXi and CX ceramic brackets -- have identical in/out dimensions so they can be used together without requiring compensating bends in the archwire, according to the company.
Made of polycrystalline alumina material, Avex CX blends with enamel, providing an aesthetic alternative to metal brackets, according to Opal. The design features a tie-wing shape, mesial/distal pockets, and beveled edges to reduce notching.
Valo Ortho is a broadband curing light that offers an Xtra power quadrant that can cure five teeth with the press of one button. It has an optimally collimated beam that cures directly over the labial face of the bracket, according to Opal.
