BioMers has launched two new products for orthodontic treatment: the SimpliClear braces system and the Astics Color retainers.
The SimpliClear braces system consists of translucent brackets and a proprietary translucent wire. The key innovation of the system stems from BioMers' polymer composite wire, a translucent, nonmetallic, orthodontic wire, according to the company.
BioMers polymer wire has similar mechanical properties to conventional metallic wires used in braces and offers comparable results, the company said.
SimpliClear is currently available as SimpliClear Express, a system for treating patients with mild misalignment of teeth. SimpliClear for comprehensive orthodontic treatment will be made available at a later date.
Astics Color retainers come with colored wires in blue, green, or hot pink. The retainers are made from the same material as SimpliClear orthodontic wires.
"SimpliClear Express represents a new affordable aesthetic option for patients without a compromise on performance, while Astics Color allows orthodontic patients to wear braces as they would any other accessory, with the freedom of choice on color, to portray an aspect of their personality," said BioMers CEO Mervyn Fathianathan.
