April is National Facial Protection Month

Dental professionals will observe National Facial Protection Month during April and encourage their patients to use protective mouthguards, helmets, and other sports safety equipment.

National Facial Protection Month is sponsored by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), the American Association of Orthodontists, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Visit the AAOMS Web site for facial protection tips, a mouthguard guide, the newly revised "Treating and Preventing Facial Injury" pamphlet, and more information.
