Doctors Improving Healthcare -- an online resource for patients who want to find physicians and dentists in the San Francisco Bay Area -- is launching a $50,000 smile makeover contest in the U.S. to help those who cannot afford costly dental work.
To enter the contest, candidates need to visit DoctorsImprovingHealthcare.org, fill out a form, and write about their dental condition and how a smile makeover could change their life. Contestants can also provide details of how they feel about their smile and how it is affecting their social life.
The grand-prize winner will receive a free smile makeover worth up to $50,000. Four second-place winners will win Sonicare toothbrushes, while 100 third-place winners will receive $30 off coupons toward dental work.
The winners of the contests will be announced on April 30, 2010.
Contestants can invite friends and family to take part in the contest. Only one vote per person is allowed.
"The smile makeover contest is yet another step to bring high-end healthcare solutions well within reach of our users. The contest will also allow us to bring before the nation how a perfectly designed smile can transform a person's life," said Beau Golob, president of Doctors Improving Healthcare, in a press release.
