Despite the global economic crisis, the Asia-Pacific market for dental prosthetics -- including crowns, bridges, and dentures -- is expected to top $7 billion (U.S.) by 2015, up from $6 billion in 2008, according to a new report from Research and Markets.
The Asia-Pacific market includes Australia, Japan, and South Korea. The Japanese market for dental prosthetics was the largest in terms of both unit volume and market value, as it accounted for approximately 80% of the total Asia-Pacific market, according to Research and Markets.
"Although the economic recession has constrained patients' discretionary incomes and limited the crowns and bridges market, the market for all-ceramic restorations is expected to quickly re-establish growth following the economic recovery," the company noted.
