CPR Sapphire prophy paste from IC Care now has a smoother, splatter-resistant formula that is designed to replace rough pumice and expensive composite pastes, the company announced. CPR is safe for routine maintenance of veneers, restores brilliance to dull crowns, and removes up to four shades of stain from composites, according to IC Care.
The new prophy paste cleans and polishes natural teeth and all other surfaces as quickly as coarse pumice with less abrasiveness than some daily-use toothpastes, IC Care said. In addition, the 1 micron uniform Sapphire spherical composition makes CPR "perfect for nonabrasive routine mixed mouth prophylaxis and as a final step after placement and adjustments," the company stated in a press release.
Routine polishing with CPR creates super smooth surfaces, making it difficult for adhesion of biofilm, thus minimizing stain and caries, the company added.
