About 94% of U.S. adults plan to visit a dentist in 2022, according to survey findings recently published by Delta Dental.
The company surveyed over 1,000 U.S. adults and their oral health behaviors as part of World Oral Health Day.
Other findings from the survey include the following:
- About 3 in 4 U.S. adults (74%) credit the COVID-19 pandemic for making them more aware of their health.
- About 9 in 10 (86%) adults agree that throughout the pandemic, maintaining their oral health is essential to protecting their overall health.
- Cavities are the top dental concern (86%), an increase of 6% from the previous year.
- Many adults also had to overcome pain or toothache (74%) and teeth sensitivity (67%), which increased 7% and 6%, respectively.
