Glidewell Dental and Structo have expanded their partnership to integrate Structo's Velox desktop 3D printer into the glidewell.io in-office restorative system.
The glidewell.io system is designed to simplify the prescribing and delivering of laboratory-grade restorations and includes scanning, design, and milling functions. Beginning with an intraoral scan, the software can autodesign restorations, communicate with a lab, or provide designs for immediate fabrication.
The Structo Velox 3D printer includes print, wash, and cure functions for direct printing of single and multiunit restorations, drill guides, splints, models, and orthodontic appliances.
The printer is expected to be available in the U.S. as part of the Glidewell system later in 2018, according to the companies.
