SAN FRANCISCO - Convergent Dental announced new updates for its Solea laser at this week's California Dental Association's CDA Presents 2015 meeting.
The updates include a new software upgrade, a new 1.00-mm-XC (coarse cut) spot size, and an improved 1.00-mm (standard cut) spot size.
Solea Software 2.4.0 provides dentists with the capability to automatically receive software updates via Wi-Fi, according to the company. After entering a special PIN, the latest software version can be downloaded from Convergent servers.
The new 1.00-mm-XC spot size joins the existing 1.25-mm-XC spot size but ablates dental tissue in a smaller, more precise pattern, according to the company. The new 1.00-mm spot size replaces the original 1-mm spot size.
Convergent Dental CEO Michael Cataldo told DrBicuspid.com that these upgrades make the laser faster and smoother.
"The new pattern that is part of this upgrade significantly improves performance and demonstrates our commitment to increasing the value to our customers after their original purchase," Cataldo said.
