Oral Health America (OHA) has reached its goal to help 500,000 in-need children by sealing 2 million teeth, the organization announced.
OHA, a nonprofit whose mission is to change lives and improve overall health through better oral health, reached the milestone five years ahead of its 2020 goal. The goal is part of its Seal Two Million campaign, which was established in 2010 to place sealants on school-aged children's teeth.
Throughout the 2014-2015 school year, OHA and partners helped 460,000 children in 47 states, providing sealants, fluoride varnish, and education.
OHA President and CEO Beth Truett and others announced reaching the goal at Oral Health America's Smiles Across America Share & Learn Conference in Philadelphia on July 29.
