The American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) honored Jack Hahn, DDS, with a Lifetime Achievement Award on June 12 at the academy's summer meeting in Chicago.
Dr. Hahn developed the original tapered implant and has restored more than 45,000 implants over the course of his 45-year career, according to the AAID. He developed the NobelReplace dental implant and has won several other lifetime achievement awards for his work with implants and healthcare leadership.
The award coincided with the launch of the Hahn tapered implant system, developed by Dr. Hahn and Jim Glidewell, owner and founder of Glidewell Laboratories. The new system builds on the tapered implant.
"We wanted to do something that would give back to an industry that has given us so much," Dr. Hahn stated in a press release. "Working with Glidewell Laboratories has allowed me to develop a cost-effective implant that improves the quality of treatment."
