Voco America is now offering x-tra base, a fast-setting bulk fill posterior composite that allows curing of 4-mm layers in only 10 seconds when using the universal shade.
The 75% filled x-tra base has a low shrinkage stress and low shrinkage, plus high compressive strength (350 MPa) and flexural strengths (133 MPa). Together these features make it a good foundation for posterior fillings using both the open and closed sandwich technique, according to the company.
The composite is highly radiopaque for easy x-ray identification. It is available in the company's nondripping syringe or unit dose caps with extra-long bendable metal tip in universal or A2 shades.
