Denture adhesive firm looking for YouTube stars

Secure Denture is hoping to take the embarrassment out of denture wearing with a video contest that promises $1,000 to the lucky winner.

Secure is looking for creative talent to bring to life how its Secure denture adhesive can improve the denture wearing experience. Participants are asked to get creative in making a video that's "interesting, unique, memorable, and conversation-starting -- a video that will be entertaining and get people interested in talking about dentures!" the company stated in a press release.

Denture wearers or those who know denture wearers can enter to win the $1,000 prize. The video can feature a song, dance, poetry, comedy, or even Claymation or sock puppets.

"Since introducing Secure, we have found that many denture wearers are reluctant to talk about what it's like wearing dentures, perhaps feeling a certain embarrassment," said Pierce Sioussat, president of Bioforce USA, a distributor of Secure. "We would like to help change this by bringing it out in open in an artistic, humorous way, hopefully opening the way for better communication on the subject. There are 32 million denture wearers in the U.S., so we feel this is an important issue."

All videos will be screened first prior to being uploaded on the company's YouTube channel to ensure appropriateness. Judging begins September 1, 2011. The winner will be notified on September 9, 2011.

Secure denture adhesive is waterproof and zinc-free, and lasts for up to 12 hours.
