Invention makes removing dentures easier

An Illinois man has invented a unique tool to help denture wearers remove and clean their dentures, according to a story in the Herald-Review.

Brian Williams, 34, of Decatur, IL, wears dentures himself, and when he first got them, he tried following the instructions for removing them and found it almost impossible, he told the Herald-Review.

So he came up with the 3-in-1 Dental Tool, a blue plastic device about the length of a disposable razor that has a scooped end. He made the first one out of two plastic forks by melting and shaping them.

Williams has applied for a patent and expects to receive it this month. He has also contracted with Midwest Molding Solutions in Bloomington to produce a biodegradable, recyclable, eco-friendly version of the 3-in-1 Dental Tool that is dishwasher-safe.

Williams, who currently works at a car dealership, has formed a company called Here to Help Products and plans to develop other innovative products, he told the Herald-Review.
