Two Michigan towns and a Washington community have voted to continue fluoridating their water supplies.
Boyne City and Bronson in Michigan both overwhelmingly approved fluoridation measures, according to a boynegazette.com story.
Boyne City's Fluoride Initiative was approved after city commissioners wanted to stop the decades-old practice of fluoridating the city's municipal water supply.
Residents of Kalama in southwest Washington also voted to keep fluoride in their drinking water, according to an Associated Press story.
It was an advisory measure but the city council has informally pledged to abide by the results. Kalama has fluoridated its water for about 50 years.
Kalama Mayor Pete Poulsen brought the issue to the council because of his unease with what he saw as a toxic substance added to the water supply.
Salina, KS, and Healdsburg, CA, also voted to continue fluoridating their water supplies.
