America's ToothFairy said it raised $30,000 during its annual Bid for Smiles fundraiser to support oral healthcare for kids in need.
Proceeds from the online auction of dental equipment and supplies will help members of the organization's Dental Resource Program, which supports more than 75 nonprofit dental clinics that service more than 500,000 children in the U.S. Member clinics receive financial grants, as well as dental products and equipment, educational materials, and opportunities for community engagement, according to America's ToothFairy.
Henry Schein, GC America, Darby Dental Supply, and Midmark were among the sponsors and major item donors this year, America's ToothFairy said. The auction has raised more than $630,000 since 2014 to support safety-net dental clinics and community programs that provide preventive services and restorative treatment to children in underserved communities, according to the organization.
America's ToothFairy noted that it's still accepting monetary donations for the Dental Resource Program on its website. It also said that additional online auctions may be held this fall to supplement lost income due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
