Henry Schein has joined with 26 of its supplier partners to participate in the 14th annual Give Kids A Smile (GKAS) Day.
Give Kids A Smile Day is celebrated each year on the first Friday of February with the goal of expanding oral healthcare access for underserved U.S. kids. For the 2016 GKAS Day, Henry Schein and partners are supporting nearly 40,000 volunteers, who will provide free oral health screenings, education, and treatment to 300,000 underserved children.
"Henry Schein's commitment to the Give Kids a Smile program grows deeper every year, and the generosity of our supplier partners strengthens our resolve to expand access to oral healthcare for underserved children,' stated Stanley Bergman, Henry Schein's CEO and chairman of the board, in a press release. "In recognition of the integral link between a person's oral health and their overall health, we will continue to stand with our partners in support of the program."
The day is part of the ADA Foundation's Give Kids A Smile program. The program and day are the result of a public-private partnership between the ADA Foundation, Henry Schein, Colgate-Palmolive, and Dexis.
